Years ago, Michael and his wife, Judy, were traveling to France for a painting trip, when they discovered housing accommodations that included studios for working artists. That’s when they realized artists visiting the scenic Central Oregon coast would likely benefit from such a building.
The couple took it upon themselves to renovate Toledo’s Justice of the Peace building into an “artist in residence” lodging. The studio was created to promote a creative atmosphere while making the artist feel comfortable. Designed to be a painting studio, it also has adaptability for sculptors, writers and composers. Painters using the studio will enjoy the completely furnished space, which includes an easel, taboret, linens and a kitchen. You’ll find living arrangements downstairs while you expand your artistic expression upstairs.
